Outdoor Tent Revivals
"FIRE IN THE CITY"

Citywide, outdoor, Gospel tent revivals were held yearly on a major intersection in Decatur, IL. "Fire in the City" was a 21 day event.
Numerous churches and ministries throughout the city and Central Illinois participated in each year's outdoor tent revival.
Evangelists and pastors from the entire area preached nightly about the great Salvation of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
"The purpose of the revival," said Evangelist Darrell Porter, "was to present the amazingly good news of God's love and Salvation to the people of Decatur and Macon County. One of the best ways to do this is to do it go where the people are - outdoors."
Daily events included noonday prayer, and prayer again at 6pm. Services started at 7pm. Other activities took place, including activities for youth and mid-day Bible studies on some days. Special Youth Night Services were held on each of the three Thursdays.
Evening services began with a reading of a Proclamation of Blessing for the City of Decatur. "We know God wants to bless city," says Evangelist Porter, "and we aim to put our hands to work for the good of our city. This has been our goal during the past four years."
